DIANA
(commanding)
Come on you lot, time for you to start a new life in the North.
SFX: MARCHING
DIANA
(commanding)

SFX: MARCHING HALT
DIANA
Delivery from the Island
ADRIAN
Oh, hey Diana, how are you doing?
DIANA
(emotionless)
Fine. Here's all the paperwork, they're your problem now.
ADRIAN
Not sticking around then, we got some good tea, 'shroom coffee, or maybe we could grab some dinner. I finish as soon as I'm done processing this lot. Shouldn't take too long.
SFX: LONG SILENCE
ADRIAN
It's a shame, that I don't get to see you up here more often Diana.
DIANA
I mostly go where I'm told,
ADRIAN
You know they are not all bad right, these people you bring up here. Sure some of them have broken the law but I'm beginning to question if the law is right you know.
DIANA
Don't tell me you're a sympathiser
ADRIAN
Not entirely, no,
(Pause)
Hear me out here, These guys you bought tonight will spend the night in the nearby converted Premier Inn, It's run by a local group who don't exactly have everything sorted due to the restrictions but they are trying to make it work you know. Its not exactly luxury is what I'm saying.
DIANA
Premier Inn's were not exactly luxury before the restrictions Adrian.
ADRIAN
Yeah I know that, what I'm trying to say is that they are just trying to make do with what they have and I sort of admire that.
DIANA
I guess, But they will never have the luxuries like we do. I'm pretty sure that I don't want to give those up.
ADRIAN
I hear you. So, tell me Diana, is there anyone waiting for you down south.
DIANA
(Deadpan)
Be careful what you say around me, you may work for the government but that does not mean that I won't arrest you for that kind of language. Consider that your first and only warning.
ADRIAN
(realises)
Ah, Jesus yeah, sorry. I'm still adjusting to the new language laws. You never answered my question though, you got anyone back home?
DIANA
No, I don't do relationships Adrian
ADRIAN
Not even temporary ones?
DIANA
Temporary ones I'm fine with.
ADRIAN
Let me take you out then.
DIANA
Hmmm, well I suppose I do clock off in half an hour. Do you live close?
ADRIAN
Aye pretty close,
DIANA
Give me 30 mins and then you can have me for dinner.
ADRIAN
(flustered)

(Pause)

(Pause)
Oh, your not joking (cough) yeah, sure, 30 minutes... cool. Let me process these transfers.
DIANA
I'll go wait in the van.
ADRIAN
(eager, calling out)
Okay you lot, I need you to be in alphabetical order and let's get through this quickly.
